Bell 500 Custom Helmet

Heyya..

With the new Harley Davidson Road Glide, i have decided to change my riding attire..

I bought the Bell 500 Custom with Matte Black colour from HHE Motorsports in Section 7, Shah Alam..

It costs RM800.. You may find the Bell 500 Custom helmet cheaper on internet but this is my first Bell helmet and i had no clues on Bell sizes..
I didn't wanna risk by ordering wrong size, hence i had to try the Small Size and Medium Size and it seems the Medium fits me perfectly..

Usually i wear Small Size for fullface helmet and enduro helmet.. But my previous Nolan open-face helmet, i learned my mistakes by buying Small size..

Open-face helmet do not have air ventilation duct so it has to be slightly larger size than what fits my head.. With the Small size Nolan helmet, there is no air ventilation and i do get sweat on my head..

It comes in a red box and red helmet bag / dust cover..

Here comes the Matte Black!
The Bell 500 Custom helmet is DOT approved.. the inner pads are washable and easily to be removed and re-assembled.. Bell gives 5-Year Warranty for the helmet..

My tips on riding from KL to Ayutthaya in 13 hours..

Heyya..

following the previous topic when i did a Solo Ride to China-Laos Border:

Laos Solo Ride Day 1: Kuala Lumpur - Ayutthaya (1,660 km)

A fan of my blog, Zul Putrajaya, has asked me for few tips on how to ride from Kuala Lumpur to Ayutthaya (North of Bangkok) in 13 hours..

To be honest with you, i've done this 4 times on motorcycle and 1 time with my Pajero Sport.. follow my tips, Brahh:

1) Ride SOLO.. Why? because riding solo does not give you headaches.. as 'always', riding mates tend to demand a lot, i.e.: wanna smoke first.. wanna have a toilet break, wanna snap pictures, wanna eat at muslim halal restaurants, wanna make a phone calls / sms, etc..

Arrgghhh!! I just wish to slap them all!!! haahahahaa

2) I will sleep as early as 8.00 pm a night before after a heavy dinner meal.. usually i would have KFC dinner plate with Original Thighs and large Coleslaw.. hehee.. after dinner, fill up the fuel tank to its maximum limit..

3) I'd leave Kuala Lumpur at 3.00 am.. Yes, 3 o'clock in the morning Brahh.. this is to avoid traffic jams at Juru Penang and traffic at Thai immigration..

4) I finish my Thai Immigration and Customs Declaration at 7.50 am.. and it's 6.50am (Thai time).. so there is no traffic from Dannok until Hatyai as Thai people still haven't gone to work/school.. therefore, no traffic at all.. When traffic lightSSSS are red, boleh kasi pancung red light tu.. heheee

5) Must always understand and know the Fuel Mileage of your bike.. my GS Adventure can easily do 650 km of mileage for every full tank load, with the average speed of 150-160 km/h.. in Thailand, my average speed is reduced to 130 km/h..

6) I only stop for refueling.. at the same time, i will grab meals (breakfast or lunch) and coffee during the break..

7) I would try to reach Petchaburi before 4 pm.. please do expect there will be heavy traffic from Hua Hin junction towards Samut Prakan in Bangkok on Route 35..

8) Since i'll be in Bangkok Route 9, i can reach Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya at 5.30 pm via Route 32.. and enjoy Ayutthaya Historical town, Brahh..

There you go, Brahh.. Kuala Lumpur to Ayyuthaya (1,660km) in 13 Hours.. :D

My new Harley Davidson Road Glide is in my hands..

Heyya..

I'm freaking excited! Finally, i brought back the Harley Davidson Road Glide FLTRX with 96-cubic inch engine....
It's just right on time for Bangkok Motorbike Festival..

I plan to see my girlfriend in Trang this weekend so i could get the long journey stamina back and to understand the character of the Road Glide during a long haul..

A week later, i will be heading to Bangkok Bike Festival (Saturday) and head to Mae Hong Son 1864 Corners and Chiang Mai to meet all my party girl-friends..

If time permits, i might drop by at Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima on the south bound, coming back to KL.. I hope i could meet my friends at Chokchai Farm, Pak Chong..

Even my dad got excited when i brought the Road Glide home..
I have upgraded the air intake filter for Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 and i retain the original Road Glide air filter cover..

I hope you can notice my new Vance & Hines Hi-Output 2-into-1 Full System Exhaust.. it is not just slip-on pipe, which these pipes manage to increase the bike performance up to 10.8 BHP and 18.3 Nm of Torque on 4th Gear.... the Full System Exhaust consists:
  • Vance & Hines Dresser-Dual 2-inch Headers
  • large 3.25-inch mid-pipe
  • 4.5-inch Muffler..

And it sounds like W A R !!!

More photos to come..

Vance & Hines Stainless Hi-Output 2-into-1 Pipes

Heyya..
Next week, my Harley Davidson Road Glide will be out..
In this week, the Harley mechanics will be installing Vance & Hines Stainless Hi-Output 2-into-1 Pipes..

From Vance & Hines official website:

"Stainless Hi-Output 2-into-1 breaks new ground, applying premium materials and no-compromises performance tuning for heavily modified motors, with an unmistakable “works” finish that says "this bike was built for racing".

Continually pushing the performance envelope, Stainless Hi-Output 2-into-1, available for 2009-2012 Harley-Davidson Touring models, starts with tapered head pipes with an oversized merge collector and feeds into a multi-stepped megaphone.
Every aspect of the Stainless Hi-Output 2-into-1 has been developed and tested through countless hours of dyno time with the singular focus to increase volumetric efficiency critical to extracting maximum horsepower from high output engine modifications."

The Hi-Output 2-into-1 is a exhaust system which consists of:

  • 1.75-inch to 2-inch of Header / Manifold pipes
  • 2.5-inch Inlet to Megaphone
  • 3-inch to 3.25-inch Baffle with Anti-Reversion Cone
  • 4-inch to 4.5-inch Stepped Muffler Body
The System includes the Header / Manifold pipes so i'm expecting there will be some increase in HP.. The craftsmanship, welding is solid and beautiful.. plus the noise will be produced through the only one 4.5-inch muffler body should be packed with loud and full of bass... not ricey..
I found attachment files on Facebook from a Road Glide owner (Clarence Mckimy) in the States where he just did Dyno run on his Road Glide.. he has installed Vance & Hines Power Duals Headers and Hi-Output slip-on along with high-flow air filter, which i already installed on my Road Glide FLTRX too.. As the result, these pipes managed to increase the bike performance up to 10.8 BHP and 18.3 Nm of Torque on 4th Gear..
Horsepower Comparison

Torque Comparison
I bought the Vance & Hines Hi-Output 2-into-1 Full System from Bikes World Hamawangsa at Glenmarie, Shah Alam.. if you're interested for having this fine exhaust system, you may ask for Khairul from Bikes World.. he has a wide knowledge on Harley Davidson.. Top Man!
